Our tools for workplace analysis help organisations build a clear picture of workplace needs and how the office is actually used. By combining the Workplace Adequacy™ Survey, My day at work, attendance data analysis and other insights, you get decision-making material that makes it easier to prioritise well.
The insights can be used to plan and develop the workplace based on both employees’ needs and organisational conditions — whether you work in a traditional setting, a hybrid model or with activity-based working.
With our workplace planning tools, you can also turn analysis into practical planning: estimate space requirements, clarify which spaces and functions are needed, map inventory needs and track the carbon footprint linked to workplace design choices.
The Workplace Adequacy™ Survey is based on the research-informed Workplace Adequacy™ framework and helps you establish a clear baseline and decision-making material for workplace development. The survey can be used throughout the journey — from analysis and workplace strategy development to change management and follow-up.
The Workplace Adequacy™ Survey is available in four versions: Baseline assessment, Workplace strategy development, Lead the change, and Follow up and refine — so you can choose the approach that fits your purpose. If needed, the survey can also be tailored, for example by adding relevant question areas based on your organisation and objectives.
My day at work is a workshop that maps employees’ space preferences and the activities typically carried out during a working day. The method uses an interactive format where participants choose between cards representing different environments for different types of work — for example collaboration, meetings and individual focused work.
Participants’ responses are collected electronically and compiled automatically. The workshop takes around one hour to run and can be delivered in a large group with up to 100 participants. When purchasing the material, you receive clear facilitator instructions as well as login access to the data-collection platform.
To make well-informed decisions about the office, you need to understand when and how often employees are actually present. By analysing data from your access control system, you gain a clear picture of attendance and utilisation over time.
The analysis helps you identify patterns and trends — for example which days are most heavily used and how variation looks across weeks and months. You can also filter specific periods and compare scenarios, such as how average attendance changes when certain days or weeks are excluded.
These insights provide a solid foundation for planning space and functions, improving resource efficiency and developing work environments that support both productivity and wellbeing. The analysis can be used on its own or combined with the Workplace Adequacy™ Survey and My day at work.
Workplace planning tools help you turn needs-analysis insights into a practical foundation for ongoing workplace planning. Across the modules, you can estimate space requirements, clarify which functions and inventory are needed, gain an indicative cost overview and assess the carbon footprint related to reuse and new purchases.
The tool consists of four modules — Spaces, Equip, Predict and Footprint — supporting planning from space and equipment through to budget and sustainability.
